Everyone needs a little bit of help at some point in their lives - you are not alone. There are many agencies and independent charities out there who you might be able to turn to, however sometimes it seems that they are just out of reach or even invisible to you.
We have created a full page of help and
advice (click here), with a lot
of information. Along side our help page we have a
whole area dedicated to Universal Credit (click here). In
these areas you will find help sheets to download for FREE,
and links to other organisations.
If you, some one you know or a family member is in immediate danger DIAL 999
Maybe you find that you have no one to talk to - or that no one is really listening, if so, why not pop down to our Store Cupboard, you'll find lots of like minded people, and you can pick up something to eat at the same time (our Store Cupboard is open every day, and the food is FREE and FRESH!). We know about lots of organisations and action groups, so just ask us for a bit of advice and we will try our best to help.
We are not social workers or counselors, just ordinary people like yourself and we are always happy to listen and try to point you in the right direction, for example:
A local woman was picking up a few fresh supplies from the Store Cupboard; whilst having a chat with someone there she mentioned that she had no money for food as she had to pay to get to the hospital (she had been informed that she was not entitled to get her travel costs back), the other person knew of an organisation that could possibly help her. It all ended happily when she called the organisation, explained her circumstances and travel was organised for her to get to hospital, taking just a little bit of stress out of an already stressful situation - that's what we call a good result - local people helping local people!
