Back to work project
It has always been our policy to help those people sent to us through various employment agencies, or volunteers, reach their full potential in life, .
We aim to provide them with skills within the workplace, but more than that, the confidence in themselves to then go on to achieve other things, we have seen some great success stories over the years.and hopefully had input into many lives.
This is a new venture for us started in January 2016 we will be offering a workshop on two days per week whereby people retired or out of work or just fancy doing something different can come along and up cycle or repair furniture/ metal work. so if you are interested and have time and want to try something different give Stuart Pottinger a call at Jacobs well.
This again is new from January 2016 we are offering the use of sewing machines and expert advise how to use them for arts/crafts needlework sewing lessons free for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, so if you are a keen seamstress and can give us a few hours a week give us Angela Pottinger a call at Jacobs well.
Another new project in conjunction with S C R A T C H Southampton, we are now a collection point for a national food project named Fareshare whereby food is intercepted from supermarkets and sold to eligible charities ,schools community groups by S C R A T C H .

This is something we have been doing for the last five years or so we always bought families food if they re in desparate need but now we give out food trays on a daily basis, there is no referall system in place so its available to anybody,if we feel the need is genuine we will try our best to help we currently supply on a weekly basis food to well over 300 families directly each week we collect food six days a week and we deliver six days also, we do not keep a stock or store as it comes in daily it goes out daily ,we collect from local supermarkets, who very kindly support us, we also supply to hostels and local refuges, all of the food is fresh food ,fruit ,veg, meat as well as bread and cakes, butter and milk, however we do struggle with tea, coffee, sugar, and tinned foods so if you could help with this we would be very greatfull.
